Gay men What sets off your gaydar?
How old were you when you came out?
I was 12 when I had an idea that I was gay. By the time I was 16 I knew! I did nothing about it. By the time I was 20 I had a drinking problem. By the time I hit 30 I had one DWI and almost got another.
I started to come out in 1996. I was 29 years old. I went through hell before I came out. When I was 30 I came out on "Mother's day".
My sister came out 2 years later.
Now my life beacame more manageable when I came out. My life had a since of control once I quit drinking. When I loved the person who I really am I became a human and not a shell of a person.
If your reading this and your struggling with coming out trust me it does get better.

Gay Basher Anita Bryant is Rude?
How are you guy? Here is the letter that I sent to Anita. She was rude. She never wrote me back. Here again is my letter to the woman.
Dear Anita:
You are such an inspiration to me to be on a crusade. All that you have done is such a wonderful testament on how much someone like can spread the word of GOD. However you are so wrong in your hate, I do everything I can to make sure my children learn that hate comes in all shapes and sizes. Religion is another form of hate. Christians like you make me sick. Your the type that gives religion a bad name. You use the Bible to spread your ignorance.
This COUNTRY has ignorant people that can't think for themselves. You use there ignorance so that you can make money. Now I am not gay. I have a husband and 4 children. WE keep them away from Church because most Religion's have turned into political sewer systems. By the way the more you talk the more GOD is listening and if he is not laughing then he is getting angry at you trust me I think GOD take notes!

DB COOPER PARACHUTE STORY
When the plane landed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, he released the passengers in exchange for $200,000 and asked to be flown to Mexico. He apparently parachuted from the plane's back stairs somewhere near the Oregon border.
Agents doubt he survived because conditions were poor and the terrain was rough, but few signs of his fate have been found.
And when Carr overlaid the family's address onto a map investigators made in the early days of the investigation, he learned another encouraging fact: They lived right in Cooper's most probable landing zone, between Green and Bald mountains.
Carr hopped in his car and drove down. He dug around the property for about 45 minutes, unsuccessfully looking for a harness or other remains from the parachute, but the children weren't home, and the father wasn't sure exactly where they found it.
There are no obvious markings on the parachute to indicate whether it's the type Cooper used, a Navy Backpack 6 with a 26-foot canopy, Carr said. He's hoping a member of the public who has expertise in the parachutes will come forward and confirm whether it's the right kind before the FBI bothers to excavate the property. Barring that, the agency could turn to scientific analysis of the fabric.
"We've got to be pretty darn sure we're not wasting time and money here," he said.
If it is Cooper's parachute, that will solve one mystery — where he apparently landed — but it will raise another, Carr said.
In 1980, a family on a picnic found $5,880 of Cooper's money in a bag on a Columbia River beach, near Vancouver. Some investigators believed it might have been washed down to the beach by the Washougal River. But if Cooper landed near Amboy and stashed the money bag there, there's no way it could have naturally reached the Washougal.
"If this is D.B. Cooper's parachute, the money could not have arrived at its discovery location by natural means," Carr said. "That whole theory is out the window."
THE MURDER OF a Gay teen Lawrence King IN OXNARD CA
I graduated from high school in 1985. I was a fat scared gay boy. I was sad & alone. I felt so isolated. I herd things for gay teens have changed now. Even though I did not come out until I was 29 I herd things were better now. Great. Maybe now the new generations of "Gay-Americans" will not have to turn to booze of pills to get through the day. Well as the saying goes "The more things change, the more they stay the same".
Crimes against gay people got a huge spotlight when 20 year old Matthew Shepard was beaten and left dead in Laramie , WY. He later died! The murder of Lawrence King is just another story to most people but to GAY AMERICANS is a very frighting story we hear about all to often.
This was less than 10 years ago when "Matthew Shepard" was killed! Nothing seems to be changing. The fact that in the city of Oxnard the adults seem to hate gay people. Did you know that in a high school a teacher had to withdraw the book "The Color Purple" from a reading assignment! What got the parent so enraged was not that the book deals with child rape, attempted rape, & incest that was not there problem They were mad because the book had "Gay Content". I can not believe however these parents ever read the book. They must of only saw movie. I grew up in Oxnard!
When Matthew Shepard was killed there were protest all over the country! I thought things were changing! I personally marched. This was my fight! In fact _____ & I marched in 2 of them. Well here it is almost 10 years later and another gay teen is killed because he is gay and made a pass at a "straight boy". How sad someone would rather kill him then to kiss him!
I have to give Lawrence credit for "being honest" with himself and living his life his way. Was he hurting anyone? "Hell No". However being so young he did not know that being gay in AMERICA is not safe! His death only underlines the fact. In America its a fact that being gay your 2ND class citizen.
In America people are getting into public office by trying to make sure that gay citizens we do not get equal rights. How sad if you think about it that people are getting voted into office because they are for keeping rights away from United States Citizens.
Lawrence King did not understand that this hate factor was all around him. He did not see that people want to harm us . He was a victim of a hate crime his death will not be the last one. This country seems to breed ignorance and intolerance! Listen to any rap album. The artist seem to use to word nigger and fag to describe all men and women.
Everyone in the UNITED STATES has to wake up to the fact that hate crimes are more then just stupid white men in white robes lynching African Americans. That is only one type of hate crime. There are others. Jewish people are still victims. Black churches still seamed to get burned and of course a gay man in this country still has to watch how he acts in public, because god forbid he holds his boyfriends hand in the wrong part of town, or make a pass at the wrong guy!
Yes this is the America we live in. AS long as we vote in people like GW its not going to get better. America needs to stop and be accountable for its actions. We are a nation of bully's. WE think are shit doesn't stink. We go into other country's and force democracies. Wake up! This country has a hate problem. I know this because I live in Mississippi. Its the "White Trash" capital of the south. I hear the word "Nigger" dropped everyday. I also here the word "fag" dropped just as often. The United States should be ashamed of the fact that we are the prime example of ignorance and intolerance.
Its funny we preach to the other side of the world about being inclusive but in this country there is millions of people who if they had it thier way would outlaw abortions (what happen to free will) they will not vote for a black man in the white house, or let there gay citizens to get married. This country is the capital of ignorance, & intolerance! In order for things to change we all have say "enough with the hate". No matter who you are when someone says something negative challenge them to stop. Even if that means your preacher, teacher, or spouse, or children.
What Oxnard Ca is like then & Now
In 1977 a teenage boy is killed and his girlfriend is rapped and left for dead. She survives. In 1979 A teen is murdered in a movie theatre where the movie "The Warriors" is playing"1979 A teen is killed on the job In 1986 A woman is killed in her own home.
In 2008 A gay teen is gunned down in school. There is more. However these somehow effective me. All of them make me angry. All the victims left behind friends and family. When a murder happens a family gets redefined. Not by choice. Memories are now start out with before or after. Now I left Oxnard years ago. Later I met ______ and we have had a life together for the last 10 years. However we live in Mississippi. I went from bad to worse.
When we walk out the door we know we are not safe to even show the slightest sign of affection. I use to be open and honest here in Mississippi. I refused to live in a closet. I was honest wherever I worked! However when I was honest the job became hard. The job didn't change people's ignorance came forward. The latest job I retreated to "Not to talk about my personal life". It has made my work life easier. Being honest doesn't help when you live in the south. The only time in the last 5 years I felt it was safe to show any kind of affection for _____in public was when we saw "Kathy Griffin". It was great. However that was for just 2 hours of the past 5 years. What a world.

When is someone really gay?
GAY or Straight RELATIONSHIPS Is it true we only see what we want to see?
1) It would be a miracle if he did his dishes
2) HE paid the bills
3) He returned the phone calls
4) He did the shopping
5) He did the housework
6) Remember its my birthday
7) Remember its Valentines Day
8) Remember it our Anniversary
9) Remember it's my birthday.
I wish I would of noticed this 10 years ago. Why is it that we never notice these thing in the beginning of a relationship? How come the other person (in the relationship) never realizes that the other person is unhappy?
Is it true we only see what we want to see?

HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE GAY
The other day I was talking to my sister (who is also gay) and she told me something very interesting. You see my sister knew in High School that she was gay but she went on to get married. I came out in 1997 ( I was 30). Shortly there after in 1999 She came out.
My sister has had 2 girlfriends since she came out. What she told me the following I could not believe. My sister told me that both of her girlfriends put the moves on her first. Also these women were both in there 40's and they both never had any type of same sex experience. Neither one of them had any feelings about any woman until they met my sister. But when they met my sister they developed feelings for her.
Now her first girlfriend has since gone back to men but her current girlfriend is still with her. I do not know what gift my sister has but I do know whatever gift it is, it doesn't run in the family.

Gay Man with A crush on a Straight man
I have been in a relationship for years. On a scale of 1 to 10 its maybe a "6". So I live in in the state of Mississippi. Home of the ignorance and obesity. To be safe a gay man here stays in the closet! When your a gay couple you live on the down low. Problems are you become lonely and there is nobody to really talk too and be honest with. I have that problem now.
My life seems to be getting worse. I live with my bf who is much older. I want to leave him but I can't afford it RIGHT NOW. To top it off I developed a huge crush on a straight guy who works where I do. He might not know I am gay. I don't tell anybody. When I see this guy I can't help but to say "Hi". He is very nice and very good looking! However he is not much of a talker.
The polite "hello's" are enough for me. When I see him at work (it might be for only 3 seconds) and it makes my day. I know it will never go any further then parting glances! In fact I am only hurting myself if I even told him I was gay. Now this is not like I am old and he is young. Far From it. He is in his late 40's or early 50's. I am only 40. He is just someone I think will make someone a great catch even if it is a woman.
See gay people are not trying seduce the straight world however you do out number us. And once in awhile we might get a crush on one of you however chances are you will never know!

Is cheating worth it if you know you will not get caught
However If that question was asked to me today I might have a different answer. Today more then ever its very easy is to cheat. There is web sites about how to cheat and get away with it.
One of the best known web page is http://www.craigslist.org/ . I can't help but to look on the page and see what people are looking for. I also look at Yahoo personals and sometimes I wonder if looking is cheating? I never have contacted anybody. However its very tempting.
